NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Reminder:
The annual statewide burn ban is in effect from March 16th through May 14th. The burning of brush is prohibited during this period due to the increased risk of wildfires. Backyard fire pits, small cooking fires, and small campfires are still okay, but these can never be left unattended. |

Village of Webster Awarded a Preserve New York Grant from the Preservation League of NYS

FAST NY $9.8 million Infrastructure Grant Awarded
The Webster Economic Development Alliance (WEDA), in partnership with the Village of Webster, Xerox Corporation, and the Town of Webster, was awarded a $9.8 million grant through the Focused Attraction of Shovel-Ready Tracts (FAST NY) program.
This grant will support critical infrastructure improvements in the vicinity of the Xerox Campus, including road dedication needed for subdivision of the property, road reconstruction and extension, multimodal connections, and electrical master planning.
This project will help facilitate revitalization of the vacant and underutilized properties within the Xerox Campus, and support the transformation of this former brownfield property.

NY Forward Grant:
Governor Kathy Hochul announced awards for a total of 31 transformational projects in the Finger Lakes region as part of two economic development programs: the Downtown Revitalization Initiative and NY Forward. 11 projects were announced for the Village of Webster, a Round 2 winner of a $4.5 million NY Forward award.
